The first building constructed on the Murray State University campus, Wrather Hall is a treasured campus building that had become unusuable due to a structural issue under the auditorium stage. In addition, renovations were needed to address aging finishes and systems in the auditorium and breathe new life into a space that is extremely popular for seminars, special events, meetings and performances.
In addition to structural repairs, the HVAC and electrical systems were updated to modern, energy efficient systems that will save the University money for decades. New carpet was installed throughout the space. Lighting and sound were updated both on the stage and throughout the auditorium spaces, auditorium doors were replaced, seating was refurbished, and walls and ceilings were repaired and painted.
