E.O. Robinson Intergenerational Center

Located on a campus with a rich history of serving rural Kentucky’s higher education needs, this new building was sited in a low area of campus that was subject to flooding. By proposing to elevate the primary floor of the building, RTA provided a functional solution that also contributes to the architectural interest of the building. The building creates a new entrance into Hazard Community and Technical College (HCTC) Lee’s College campus and connects to other campus buildings through the strategic placement of entrances and interior building circulation paths. Programmatically, the building offers general classroom space, offices and training labs designed to support the medical field and local industry. A flexible, large bay lab will enable current and future programs to adapt to meet the needs of evolving regional industries. This large space can be utilized for community events and meetings.
