When Bourbon County High School was in need of a few athletic improvements to their football field, the footprint of the existing natural turf was replaced with synthetic turf and deliberately shifted in order to fit an 8-lane running track. This subtle upgrade from a 6 lane track was crucial for hosting larger events and meets, as well as bringing in additional revenue for the district. Several other improvements included new equipment for track and field events, a new scoreboard, new speakers for the existing sound system, new lighting for the football and baseball fields, and a half-size practice field.
