MEET CHANDLER! 💡

Q. How long have you been at RTA?

A. I have been with RTA for almost three years now. My time here has been an incredible journey of growth, learning, and connection. I’ve had the chance to take on new challenges, collaborate with amazing people, and really see the impact of my work. Looking back, it’s amazing how much I’ve evolved, not just professionally, but personally as well.

Q. What is a project you are currently working on, and what excites you about it?

A. Over the past few years, I’ve been working on the new Woodford County High School. It’s been a journey of challenges, growth, and so many learning moments. Being able to see the students and teachers walk into their new school, and the excitement that they have just to be in the building, has been incredibly fulfilling. It is exciting to see something that has been such a big part of the beginning stages of my career being recognized and coming to life in ways I never imagined.

Q. Can you share a project you are particularly proud of and why?

A. A project that I am proud of would be the Musketeer Alumni Complex in Greenup County. Being able to contribute to the community where I grew up has been such a rewarding experience. It feels great to see something come to life that not only represents my hard work but also gives back to the place that shaped me.

Q. What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?

A. Starting out in a career in architecture is about growth and learning. You’ll quickly realize that what you know now is just a small fraction of what you’ll learn along the way. Be open to new experiences, challenges, and feedback, because every step, whether it’s a success or setback, will help you evolve both professionally and personally. Don’t expect to have all the answers right away; instead, focus on developing a growth mindset, where each day is an opportunity to improve and expand your skills.

Q. Beyond your professional life, what do you like to spend your time doing?

A. I really enjoy visiting state/national parks, there are so many things to do at them. I like going kayaking at Red River Gorge, hiking at Cumberland Falls, as well as exploring caves at Mammoth Cave. I still have a lot of parks to explore and many hikes ahead of me.

Q. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and how would you use it?

A. I would love to be able to teleport anywhere at any time. I feel like it would not only save me a lot of time but also a lot of money on flights.

Q. What is your guilty pleasure TV show or movie?

A. One of my favorite TV shows ever is Game of Thrones. If you know you know.

Q. What’s a bucket list experience you hope to check off one day?

A. I love traveling so my bucket list item would be to visit all seven wonders of the world. So far I have not traveled outside of North America, so seeing all these sites would be a great opportunity to travel the world.
