Q. What inspired you to pursue a career in architecture?

A. I wasn’t sure I wanted a career in architecture until I started studying for it. A lot of my family members work construction jobs so there was some exposure there. However, it was really the meaning, history, and design theories around architecture/ urban design that inspired me to continue.

Q. What is a project you are currently working on, and what excites you about it?

A. The new Calvary Elementary School’s construction has progressed significantly and hearing about the local excitement around it and comparing the new facility with what they used to have makes it that much better to work on this project.

Q. What do you think are the key qualities for success in your position?

A. To be humble, adaptable, cooperative, and inquisitive.

Q.  Beyond your professional life, what do you like to spend your time doing? 

A. I usually tend to spend my time outside around town with my dog and love going to parks and trails. When I’m visiting a new city, I’m all about visiting local history and science museums, visiting historical sites, and potentially haunted ones.

Q. What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever visited and why?

A. Probably Bran Castle – the castle that inspired the description of the one in Bram Stoker’s Count Dracula.

Q. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A. Steak pho with lime, basil, and jalapenos.

Q. Would you rather fight 100 duck-sized horses, or one horse-sized duck, and why?

A. I’d rather only have to focus on one big horse-sized duck, plus no big teeth. I don’t think I can take the hundreds of bites and kicks to come from 100 tiny duck-sized horses.
