Seeking to extend the use and reduce maintenance costs for its high school football fields, Pulaski County Schools sought to convert fields at both Southwestern High School and Pulaski County High School to artificial turf playing surfaces. Both fields were designed to showcase each school’s individual colors and mascots and feature striping for competition football and soccer. An eight-lane track surrounding each field was completely removed and replaced with rubber track surface as part of the project.
"I have talked for some time, that if we ever had some really nice lights in the stadium, and we had some turf here, it would be one of the nicest venues in the state. And, here we are."
Johnny Hines, Pulaski County Football Coach
