Nearly a third of this building's materials were manufactured within the region, thereby supporting the use of indigenous resources and reducing the environmental impacts resulting from transportation.

Honors College & International Center

The heart of academic and social life for Western Kentucky University’s Honors College and International Center, this building maximizes social interaction both inside and out. Centrally located on WKU’s Bowling Green campus, the building anchors a primary pedestrian path and features a large, outdoor courtyard designed to serve all types of social events including group instruction, formal events, and informal gatherings. Inside, social spaces are central to the design and include an impressive, double-height entry atrium sized to accommodate special events. This facility also features classrooms, seminar spaces, offices, a thesis defense room, study alcoves and a large multipurpose space.

With finishes such as FSC wood wainscoting and crown molding, low-emitting carpets with traditional patterns, and regional materials, this LEED Certified building has become a warm inviting living room for honors and international students at WKU.
