Architecture Week (April 13–19, 2025), led by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), is a time to celebrate the ways architecture shapes our communities, our schools, and our future. It’s also a moment to inspire the next generation to see the built environment not just as something we move through—but something we can create.
This year’s focus on K–12 engagement aligns closely with our work at RossTarrant Architects, where we believe that education has the power to change the world. As designers of learning environments, we’re passionate about creating spaces that support growth, spark curiosity, and foster meaningful experiences for students and educators alike.
One example is our collaboration with Rise STEM Academy for Girls, where we led a five-session Design Lab introducing students to architecture and related fields. The program gave students a chance to explore design thinking while contributing ideas for their own school—building a sense of pride, ownership, and connection to their learning environment.

At RossTarrant, we’re committed to enhancing education through great design—not only through the buildings we create, but through opportunities to connect students to the power of design.
